BIOCLIMA by Kraft Paints – Sponsor at “DOMES 2018”

Internationally renowned architects chose the best Greek Architect works for the ninth consecutive year.

On Saturday, February 24, the 9th architectural DOMES Awards 2018 were awarded in the presence of important representatives of the architectural space. The event took place at the amphitheater of the Benaki Museum. George Panetsos, professor and curator of DOMES, welcomed the audience and stressed the importance of encouraging Greek architectural creation, indicating that 150 projects were submitted to this year’s edition, with more than 530 architects and other contributors.

The Awards categories were:

“Best Realized Project”, “Best New Project of New Architect”, “Best Out of Undergraduate Study” and “Best Realized Project of New Architecture in an Existing Building”. The Judges of the DOMES 2018 Prize are: Alexander Brodsky, architect, director, Bureau Alexander Brodsky, Moscow – Russia, Gonçalo Byrne, architect, director, Gonçalo Byrne Arquitectos, Lisbon – Portugal, and Jürgen Mayer, partner, J. MAYER H. und Partner, Architekten, Berlin – Germany.

Also, for the first time, the “Co-Branded Awards” were awarded for the best accomplished work and the best backlog. The “Co-Prize Awards” were created to encourage the Greek architectural crisis from Greek architects and they emerged through a secret vote of the teams that participated in the DOMES 2018 Prizes.
The 6 prize-winning works and studies, the 8 prizes honored with honors and 12 more entries that were awarded high marks by the jury, were presented in detail in the DOMES magazine issue – DOMES 2018 Awards- which was distributed to the attendees at the award ceremony.

He then invited the architects Tassos Kotsiopoulos, Athanasios Spanomenidis, Kalliopi Kontzoglou and Dimitris Antonakakis to award the four awards in the following categories: Best unfinished study, Best New Project of New Architect, Best New Architecture Project in an Existing Building and Best Performed Project. Also, for the first time, Dimitris Filippidis and Lazaros Kalyvitis were awarded the Coalition Awards for the best backlog and best accomplished work, which resulted from a secret vote of the teams that participated in the “DOMES 2018” Awards. The ceremony was completed with the award-winning architects presenting their works to the attendees.
