Waterproofing and adhesive cementitious mortar
CLIMA ROOF KF-1 is a high strength waterproofing adhesive cementitious mortar, polymer modified, suitable for sealing and protecting floors and especially flat roofs. It has excellent adhesion to thermal-insulating boards CLIMA ROOF KF-XPS and in structural, metal, acrylic, polyurethane, bituminous substrates. Because of the special composition of aggregates, covers perfectly and fills low areas of the substrate and exhibits excellent mechanical properties at areas of high stress, without requiring the use of additional repairing materials. CLIMA ROOF KF-1 meets the requirements for EN 1504-2 as surface protection material and for EN 13813 as a mortar for the construction of floors (CT-C20-F8-A3).
4.2-4.5L water to 25Kg ClimaRoof KF-1
To ensure proper adhesion, the surface should be clean, sound and free of dust, oil, loose items, and bonding water. Remove loose particles, fungi, and algae with mechanical abrasion and wash with soapy water.
On metal surfaces: It is recommended cleaning off the rust, decreasing with KRAFT BRUSH THINNER and priming with KRAFT HYDROGUARD FLEX.
Structural surfaces: Are wetted with water to saturation.
On very absorbent surfaces and on bituminous surfaces substrates: It is recommended to apply KRAFT POWDER BOND diluted 1:4 with water.
Poor 3.5L-4L water, depending on the preferred workability, in a suitable empty container and add slowly while stirring 25Kg of CLIMA ROOF KF-1 by using an electric mixer at low speed. Stir thoroughly for at least 3 to 4 minutes until a uniform mixture is created. Wait 5 minutes and stir again for 1 minute.
» Stir well before application and at regular intervals during the application.
» Do not apply at temperatures of the substrate below 5ºC and above 35o
» The maximum workability of the mixture is 45min at 25o Do not add any additional water for correcting the workability of the mortar. This will result in reducing tolerances and increasing shrinkage.
» CLIMA ROOF KF-1 is applied by trowel with or without a pole. The material should cover the substrate thoroughly without gaps and holes. The minimum application thickness should be 3mm and the maximum thickness 40mm. As the mixture CLIMA ROOF KF-1 is fresh, place the thermal insulating board CLIMA ROOF KF-XPS with L formation at all sides. The thermal insulating boards are pressed firmly to the substrate to ensure uniform contact with the adhesive and the boards, aligned with the substrate’s inclination. The final surface of the insulating boards must be completely leveled and flat, with no gaps between them (<1mm) and in the form of cross joints.
» Immediately after application, the tools must be cleaned with warm water and soap or a detergent solution. Once the material has set cleaning may only be carried out by mechanical means.
» Do not apply in case of imminent rain or under direct sunlight and strong wind.
» Stored for 12 months by the production date in its closed and sealed packages, in dry and cool condition preferably on pallets.
