Acetoxy type silicone
KRAFT MOLD RESISTANT 23 is one-component acetoxy cure, non-sag silicone. It is especially formulated to resist mould and mildew when fully cured. It has excellent adhesion to ceramics, tile board, corian, arborite, glass and most acrylics. It is suitable for sealing bathroom (bathtubs, showers stalls, urinals, bathroom vanities, and shower doors) and kitchen applications (counters, sinks, cabinets, windows, and doors), as well as for general weatherproofing in residences, hospitals, laboratories and industries. It presents good resistance to weathering, vibration, moisture, ozone, and extreme temperatures and remains permanently flexible. It cures fast upon exposure to moisture in the air.

SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION
» The substrate must be free of dust and loose particles. Cleaning by means of a wire-brush and blowing with compressed air, if available, is recommended.
» Surfaces should be degreased with solvent, KRAFT WHITE SPIRIT is recommended, using a clean cloth.
» To avoid the soiling of the joint edges put self-sticking paper tape (masking tape) along the edges. This tape must be removed immediately after sealing (before curing of the sealant).
» Cut tip off cartridge and screw the nozzle onto the cartridge. Cut the tip of nozzle at an angle to achieve the desired bead size. Apply sealant with a caulking gun in a continuous bead to the prepared joint. Smooth down after application before skin formation occurs, by using a flat or rounded tool.
» Cleaning: Excess uncured sealant should be wiped and cleaned with a KRAFT WHITE SPIRIT. Cured sealant can only be removed by abrasion.
» The width of the joint must be neither less than 3-4mm nor more than 30-40mm.
» Do not apply at temperatures below 5ºC and above 40ºC.
» May not be used to join sensitive natural stones such as marble, granite or quartz, as this may cause staining at the joint edges.
» Sealant releases acetic acid (vinegar odour) during cure.
» It can corrode or may not adhere to copper, brass (and copper-containing alloys), magnesium, zinc and galvanized metals (and other zinc-containing alloys).
» It cannot be painted by water based paints.
» It is not recommended for aquaria because of the contained fungicide.
» Store containers in dry conditions at temperatures between 5ºC and 35ºC. Shelf life of at least 18 months in the original unopened containers.
